Estimating

Estimates are required only if jobs are to be analyzed for cost variances.  It is not necessary to estimate or set up every job prior to running the job. Jobs without estimates or planned routings may simply have the time and materials accumulated against them.

Multiple estimates can be created for each part and those estimates may then be moved into customer quotes and orders.

When an estimate is created it uses a method file for that part.  The method contains the routing, purchases, and materials required to produce one part.  The estimate then uses the method to calculate the cost to make the required number of parts.  After it calculates the cost it displays a summary of costs and prints a detailed report.
